Event Description

We will screen six short films that have participated at the Drama International Short Film Festival over the past years. These six short films have been directed by Greek directors.

About DISFF: The Drama Short Film Festival was established in 1978. Its purpose is to promote and disseminate the art of cinema, and especially of the short film, in Greece and abroad, to develop a spirit of friendship and cooperation between filmmakers from all over the world, to organize screenings of Greek and foreign short films; film tributes; seminars, conferences, lectures and for a; art exhibitions; musical concerts; and theatrical performances, throughout the year, in the city of Drama, in Greece and abroad and to collaborate with similar institutions, both in Greece and abroad, towards the fostering and development of short film

  • Το χάος που άφησε πίσω της [The chaos she left behind], Νίκος Κολιούκος [Nikos Kolioukos] (33 minutes, 2023)
    • Anna, in her late twenties, feels like her life is slipping through her fingers. A ticket to a prestigious music school in Paris might be the perfect last chance to pursue her dream career in piano. Success no longer seems so elusive unless her manipulative, self-destructive alcoholic father stands in her way.
  • Wings, Φοίβος Ήμελλος [Fivos Imellos] (17 minutes, 2023)
    • A woman receives a startling phone call from her son, while waiting for him and his girlfriend over for lunch.
  • Nothing holier than a dolphin, Ισαβέλλα Μαργάρα [Isabella Margara], (17 minutes, 2022)
    • Once upon a time, there was a small village in the Mediterranean. Α forgotten myth about the dolphin and the fishermen. The time of drowning, the time of dancing – and the girl who's thirsty for the sea. Once upon a time, love was greater than us. 
  • Air Hostess 737, Θανάσης Νεοφώτιστος [Thanasis Neofotistos] (16 minutes, 2022) 
    • On a Boeing-737 a 39-y.o. flight attendant, Vanina, tries hard to hide her obvious discomfort. Everyone seems genuinely worried about her while she goes on complaining about her new braces. She blames her mother for not taking care of her teeth when she should. However, her colleagues know; this plane carries her mother's dead body to her hometown. When the turbulence becomes threatening, Vanina faces an urgent need to see her mother in what proves to be a last chance for reconciliation.
  • Από το μπαλκόνι [From the balcony], Άρης Καπλανίδης [Aris Kaplanidis] (12 minutes, 2020)
    • A middle-aged lady observes the world of an Athenian neighborhood from her balcony with mixed reactions from those she constantly watches. Until she is no longer there and that world changes forever. 
  • Index, Νικόλας Κολοβός [Nicolas Kolovos] (12 minutes, 2023) 
    • The boat that will transfer Dana’s family to Europe is ready to go, but his son, Alan, refuses to leave the truck. Dana can see that Alan’s finger is stuck in the truck’s trailer. He is overpowered by panic and the despair climaxes as he has a terrifying decision to make.
