M. Şükrü Hanioğlu is the Garrett Professor in Foreign Affairs and Professor of Near Eastern Studies at Princeton University. He is a scholar of late Ottoman and Modern Turkey in all its historical, modern and global perspectives. He teaches courses on Ottoman intellectual, political, and social history and Ottoman diplomatics.
