Since 1750 dilettanti and scholars have been challenged by the sculptural program of the Temple of Athena Parthenon, and each generation has produced its own interpretations.

This talk will present some of the newest ideas about what the ancient Athenians might be attempting to express in this, one of the most ambitious, iconographic programs of all antiquity.

The lecture will be held at College Year in Athens, Daphne & George Hatsopoulos Hall, 5 Plateia Stadiou, Kallimarmaro, Athens.
